BOOKING THE BOAT After choosing your perfect boat, it’s time to book one! If the boat is available there are two possibilities: you can proceed by clicking on “Book Now” button situated under every listing. This option gives your couple of days to plan your trip and decide whether you want to proceed with booking or not. The vessel is considered booked as soon as you pay the first installment, 50% of the total price, or the whole charter fee for bookings within 30 days before the departure.
In regards to keeping you safe - you are obliged to hire a professional skipper unless you have officially recognized sailing license. You can get your skipper license here! The skipper will not only keep all things running smoothly, but you can benefit from skipper’s local knowledge and suggestions on where to go, what to visit and more.
We can recommend or reserve a skipper for you!
Skipper’s services are paid separately from charter fee. You are also obliged to provide/pay food for all crew members (if not included in charter fee). Keep in mind that skippers in most cases sleep in the salon area, but if you are chartering a bigger yacht, kindly provide one cabin for the skipper as they are in charge of the day-to-day running of the yacht and should be wellrested.
If you have any kind of sailing license be sure to send it when contacting us so that we can check its validity in the chosen sailing destination. Please keep in mind that even if you posses a valid license but you still feel unsure about your maneuvering skills, we strongly recommend hiring a skipper!
In order to navigate a boat, a person must posses a validated license that corresponds with regulations of the country they sail in.
If you do not posses such a license, you are obliged to hire an appropriate crew.
If you do not possess such license, but want to - you can always obtain it in your mother country.
According to the Croatian law, at least one person on the vessel must posses valid nautical and VHF licences. So, if you don't want to hire a skipper, in order to charter a boat, you must have valid licenses in addition to your sailing experience. Navigational and VHF licences in Croatia are issued by Port Authorities, and if your licence is issued in a foreign country, please check whether it's valid for Croatian territorial waters. To obtain the licence, one must take classes and pass an exam that include theoretical and practical elements. If you want the bareboat charter, you must send us the copies of your licences in advance to confirm the booking. In case there is something wrong with your papers, we'll inform you on time. You must have the originals with you on board so don't forget to take them. Croatian laws are very strict on this issues and it is impossible to charter a boat without all necessary documents.

When thinking about Croatia, you are imagining more than 1,000 islands and islets scattered all over the coast. As well as warm and dry summers combined with the amazing sea colors. The skippers have to be at least 18 years old and in possession of a valid skipper license. Croatia with its numerous islands and small hidden bays is quite specific. So skipper has to be confident with anchoring and (Mediterranean) mooring in tight spaces.

The Following Sailing Licences and Permits Issued by Approved Organizations are Valid in Croatia:

ICC (International Certificate of Competence), International
RYA Day Skipper Course
IPC (International Proficiency Certificate), America
Issued by the Government or State:

UK – MCA Master (Yacht less than 500 GT), RYA Day Skipper Shorebased Certificate or above
USA – US Sailing “Basic Keelboat”, ASA “103 Basic Coastal Cruising” or above
Germany – “Sportbootführerschein See“ or above
Belgium – Algemeen Stuurbrevet/ Brevet de conduite général
France – LE PERMIS PLAISANCE
Croatia – Skipper license B-category or C-category

Also, a skipper is obligated to have a valid VHF Radio Operator licence.

Check if your license is valid here License Validation Check.

Sailing yacht charters usually begin and end on Saturdays. However, should you desire to take a several day long sailing trip in the off-season (October - April), it can be organized and the price is then calculated according to the number of days spent on board. During the high-season (in June, July and August, as well as beginning September and end May), it is more difficult to organize this type of charter since these are the busiest months for the charter companies and most weeks are sold out well in advance (therefore, the price is unlikely to be flexible, and you would usually be charged for a full week).
Check-in is at 17:00h (5pm).
If you arrive before the time for taking over the boat (the check-in generally takes place at around 5 pm), let us know the estimated time of your arrival and we will try to arrange with the charter authority to have the ship provided to you sooner, which is possible if marina isn't too crowded at that moment.

Boats are returned to the base on Friday afternoon/evening with an overnight on board until Saturday morning between 8 AM and 9 AM when the check-out procedure is done. At that time the guests should leave the boat so that it can be cleaned and prepared for new guests. The vessel can also be returned to the base on Saturday, but before 8 AM, in order for guests to have enough time to fill the tank before leaving the boat.

All services in Croatia are paid in Kunas. Sometimes it is possible to pay mooring fees in Euros, but it depends on the marina and should be checked in advance. In restaurants, shops and supermarkets you can use credit cards as well, but not everywhere, so it is always recommended to have some cash with you, whether in Kuna or in Euros.
Children can go sailing with you from an early age - there is no age limit. However, their stay on board should be closely monitored by adults. Be sure to choose the safest cabin for a child (e.g. the front cabin) and a place for them to play (cockpit is a relatively safe place). You can also put a safety net along the sides of the boat, and children should, by all means, wear life vests.
You should bring baby food along since it cannot be bought in every supermarket within the marina. You should also consider choosing shorter routes and visiting marinas more frequently in order to provide safer berthing, as well as comfort. Read more about sailing with kids here
Depending on charter, but mostly yes! Although, keep in mind bringing your pets on board is charged extra.
Of course! Every yacht is equipped with outlets that let you charge your gadgets. We do not take any responsibility for damaged or lost gadgets.
There is no need to bring bedding or towels. This varies among our boat operators, but bedding and towels are mostly included. If a boat does not come with free bed linen and towels, kit prices are not too expensive. The kit is usually per person and includes two sheets, pillowcase, one large and one small towel ( this might vary).
Marinas have secured parking areas for cars - prices vary from marina to marina. There is plenty of room so there is no need for reservation, but if you want to make one feel free to contact us!
If you have enough electricity, water, and food, you can spend the night in one of the numerous, well-secluded bays along the Adriatic coast. But, take care of the weather conditions. If using the services of a skipper, you won't have any problems in finding the securest bays, since the skippers are well acquainted with the Adriatic region. If navigating a vessel on your own, please feel free to contact us for help - we'll gladly give you our suggestions about the safe bays in the maritime zone where you are sailing. You could also ask the personnel of the charter agency for some suggestions during your check-in procedure in the marina.

For legal fishing, a valid fishing license is required as well. The license can be obtained in fishing clubs that are authorized for issuing licenses to foreign citizens. For obtaining the license you only need your passport or ID – if you are already a member of some fishing club in your country take your club card with you as it can decrease the license fee. Please note that the fishing is forbidden in National Parks – when obtaining the license you will receive the list of the locations that are off the fishing limits as well as the list of allowed fishing tools.
Diving in Adriatic is forbidden without a valid license. You need to be in possession of a valid diving card issued by the Croatian Diving Federation. This license can be obtained if you have valid diver’s brevet that was issued by an international diving association (IDD, UDI, CMAS, MDEA, PADI…).
